The LEGO Minecraft Armadillo Mine Expedition is a great value set for any young Minecraft fan, and at 35% off its RRP it is currently one of the better LEGO deals around. The 247-piece build is set in the game’s Savanna biome and brings several iconic Minecraft elements to life in physical form, making it a satisfying crossover between the digital game and hands-on creative building.

The centrepiece feature is a lever-controlled TNT function that blasts away a section of terrain to reveal precious ore hidden inside, directly recreating one of the most satisfying moments from the actual game. A small river and lava fall run alongside the mine, adding to the atmosphere of the scene. The set also includes a cave spider, a wolf, and two armadillos, which are the mobs that drop scutes used to craft wolf armour in the game, a detail that dedicated Minecraft players will immediately appreciate.

The terrain pieces can be rearranged after building to create different layouts and inspire new adventures, extending the play value well beyond the initial build. The LEGO Builder app also lets children zoom in and rotate the model in 3D on a device while following the instructions, which many kids find more engaging than the paper manual.

The completed set measures over 15 cm high, 20 cm wide, and 12 cm deep, making it a solid display piece as well as a playable set. Recommended for ages 8 and up, it is well-suited as a birthday or occasion gift for Minecraft fans of either gender.
