The Tapo TC40 is a 1080p Full HD outdoor pan/tilt security camera with 360-degree horizontal and 130-degree vertical coverage, AI-powered person detection, and motion tracking, all with no mandatory monthly subscription. It is currently the number one bestseller in Motion Detectors on Amazon, with Irish buyers consistently praising its picture clarity, ease of setup, and reliable performance in real-world conditions.

The smart AI person detection distinguishes between human movement and other motion triggers such as passing cars, swaying trees, or animals, significantly reducing false alarm notifications compared to basic motion detection cameras. When a person is detected, the camera automatically tracks their movement with high-speed rotation and sends an instant alert to the Tapo app on your phone. Two-way audio via the built-in microphone and speaker allows you to speak directly through the camera in real time.

Night vision extends up to 30 metres in total darkness, delivering clear monochrome footage throughout the night. The IP65 weatherproof rating confirms the camera is protected against dust ingress and direct water jets, making it suitable for permanent outdoor installation on walls, ceilings, or poles using the included mounting hardware.

No subscription is required for local storage. Footage is saved to a microSD card up to 512GB, purchased separately, with loop recording overwriting the oldest footage automatically. Tapo Care cloud storage is also available as an optional paid subscription. Works with Alexa and Google Home.
