The ABUS Pro Tectic 4960 NR is a frame mounted lock built for fast everyday security. Once installed on your bike it stays in place permanently which means you always have a lock with you. To secure your bike you simply turn the key and the rear wheel is blocked so no one can jump on your bike and ride away. This type of immobiliser is common on commuter bikes because it gives instant protection when you step into a shop, grab a coffee or leave the bike on the pavement within sight.

The NR version allows you to remove the key even when the lock is open. Many riders prefer this because it makes daily use easier. The lock body, the shackle and the core components are made from hardened steel so the construction feels solid and dependable for repeated use. Installation is simple when your frame has mounting holes on the rear triangle. If your frame does not have them you can use adapter straps to mount it securely. Once installed it becomes a permanent part of the bike and adds convenience because you never need to remember to bring a lock.

To increase security you can attach an additional chain or cable to the lock housing. This allows you to connect your bike to a fixed object and prevents thieves from lifting the bike and walking away with it. ABUS offers chains made specifically for this system and many riders use them as a dual setup. The lock helps you avoid the common quick grab thefts and the addon chain protects against someone carrying the bike away.

For urban riding this combination of speed and simplicity is the real value. Commuters appreciate the ability to secure the bike in seconds without searching for a pole while still having the option to upgrade the protection when needed. The current offer makes this compact and secure lock attractive for anyone who wants a reliable daily solution without carrying heavy chains.
