The Apple MacBook Neo is Apple’s newest and most accessible MacBook, released in 2026, bringing the A18 Pro chip previously found in the iPhone 16 Pro into a 13-inch laptop at an entry-level price point for the Mac lineup. It is positioned as an everyday and student machine built around Apple Intelligence, Apple’s on-device AI system for writing, summarising, and productivity tasks.

The A18 Pro chip features a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU, and 16-core Neural Engine, delivering performance well beyond what the price suggests and handling everyday tasks including photo editing, spreadsheets, video calls, and web use with instant responsiveness. The Apple Intelligence integration runs entirely on-device rather than in the cloud, which means AI-powered writing assistance, summarisation, image generation, and smart replies work without sending your data to external servers.

The 13-inch Liquid Retina display runs at 2408×1506 resolution at 219 PPI with up to 500 nits of brightness and support for one billion colours, delivering sharp, vivid visuals that remain clearly legible in bright environments. Battery life is rated at up to 16 hours of video streaming, making it a genuine all-day machine without carrying a charger. The 1080p FaceTime HD camera, dual-mic array with directional beamforming, and Spatial Audio speakers make it well-suited for video calls and lectures.

The MacBook Neo is available in four colours: Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo, each with a matching colour-coordinated keyboard. At 1.23kg the aluminium body is light and solid.

Note: the 256GB base model does not include Touch ID – this is only on the 512GB model. No power adapter is included in the box, only the USB-C cable. The keyboard is not backlit on this model. One USB-C port is USB 3, one is USB 2 only. The laptop supports one external display.
