The GardenMate BLACKLINE 95-litre fabric grow bags are a premium alternative to traditional rigid plant pots, offering genuine horticultural advantages through their breathable polypropylene felt-like fabric construction. At 95 litres per bag, this is a large-capacity size well suited to tomatoes, courgettes, squash, peppers, fruit trees in containers, or any plant that benefits from a deep, unrestricted root zone.

The key performance advantage of fabric grow bags over plastic or ceramic pots is air root pruning. When roots reach the breathable fabric wall, the exposure to air causes the root tip to desiccate and stop growing, naturally branching the root system back inward. This creates a dense, fibrous root structure with far more feeder roots than a plant grown in a solid pot, resulting in healthier, more vigorous growth and better uptake of water and nutrients. Traditional pots cause roots to spiral around the base, leading to root-bound plants with restricted growth.

The breathable fabric also provides passive drainage, preventing waterlogging even during heavy rainfall or over-watering, and allows oxygen to reach the root zone throughout the growing medium rather than just from the top surface.

GardenMate’s special felt compound is durable through multiple growing seasons. Reinforced seams and stitched corners maintain structural integrity under full load, and two sturdy side handles make repositioning possible when the bags are not fully loaded. The bags fold flat for off-season storage. Frost-proof and biodegradable.

Note: in hot conditions the dark fabric absorbs heat, which can benefit heat-loving plants like tomatoes but may require more frequent watering during heatwaves. Also available in a wide range of sizes from 5L to 400L.
