The Ravensburger GraviTrax Starter Set is an interactive marble run and construction system for ages 8 and up that combines open-ended creative building with genuine STEM learning in engineering, physics, and problem-solving. With over 100 components including the Gauss cannon, which uses magnetic acceleration to launch marbles at impressive speed, the starter set provides enough material to begin building complex, multi-level tracks immediately without hitting the limits of the set too quickly.

The system is designed around gravity, momentum, and kinetic energy. Children design, build, and test marble tracks, learning through trial and error how different configurations, heights, and components affect ball speed and trajectory. The included instructions and blueprints guide beginners through initial builds, but the open system actively encourages free building beyond the suggested designs, meaning the same set produces different results depending on who is building with it.

GraviTrax is fully expandable and all three product lines – GraviTrax CORE, GraviTrax PRO, and GraviTrax POWER – are cross-compatible with each other. The starter set is the required entry point: expansion sets and accessories only work when combined with a starter set. The range includes dozens of expansion packs covering additional track pieces, special action elements, motorised components, and themed sets, giving the system genuine long-term replay and growth value as a platform rather than a single-use toy.

Reviewers consistently describe it as a toy that holds children’s attention for hours and keeps parents engaged too.
