If you enjoy the look of charcoal or soft pastel drawings but hate the messy hands that usually come with them, these STABILO CarbOthello pencils are a brilliant compromise. They feature a dry and dusty lead that behaves just like traditional chalk, allowing you to smudge and blend colours easily with your fingertips or a blending stump to create smooth gradients and soft transitions in your artwork.

This metal tin contains 24 assorted colours, providing a versatile palette for landscapes, portraits, or abstract work. The high pigmentation ensures the colours remain vibrant and opaque, even when used on dark or coloured paper. The wooden barrel protects the 4.4mm lead from breaking, giving you the control of a pencil with the expressive quality of a pastel stick.

Another great feature is that these pencils are partially water soluble. You can use a wet brush to manipulate the pigment on the paper, creating beautiful watercolour effects while keeping the sharp outlines visible. They sharpen to a fine point, making them excellent for adding detailed highlights or fine lines that are difficult to achieve with standard soft pastels.
