The SteelSeries Apex Pro Gen 3 is the third generation of SteelSeries’ flagship gaming keyboard and the most technically advanced mechanical keyboard available at this price point. It is built around OmniPoint 3.0 HyperMagnetic switches, which use Hall Effect magnetic technology rather than traditional contact-based actuation. This delivers 20x faster actuation and 11x quicker response times than conventional mechanical switches, with 40 levels of adjustable actuation ranging from 0.1mm to 4.0mm, allowing the keyboard to be tuned from feather-light competitive gaming sensitivity to deliberate, precise typing resistance.

Rapid Trigger is the competitive gaming feature that sets this keyboard apart from all standard mechanical alternatives. Rather than resetting each key at a fixed point on the way back up, Rapid Trigger resets the key the instant you lift your finger, however slightly. This eliminates the dead zone between depress and reset that causes latency in standard keyboards, enabling faster counter-strafing, repeated keystrokes, and more responsive movement inputs in competitive shooters and other fast-paced games.

Rapid Tap adds SOCD (Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions) capability, prioritising the most recently pressed key in a configured pair without requiring the first key to be released. This enables faster peeking, slide cancelling, and direction changes with up to five configurable key pairings. Protection Mode, a SteelSeries exclusive, reduces the sensitivity of keys surrounding an active keypress to prevent accidental adjacent inputs during intense gameplay.

GG QuickSet provides one-click game-ready presets for popular titles, removing the need to manually configure settings per game. The OLED Smart Screen provides an on-keyboard display for adjusting settings without alt-tabbing. Triple-layer sound-dampening foam and per-key lubrication give the keyboard a smooth, satisfying sound profile. Double Shot PBT keycaps provide long-term durability. Three-position tilt legs, a wrist rest, volume roller, and per-key RGB with Prism sync complete the package.
