This Hive Smart Thermostat lets you control your heating directly from the wall unit or remotely through the app. It is designed for combi boilers and includes the latest Hive Nano 3 Hub with Wi-Fi connectivity so you do not need messy Ethernet cables.

The main advantage of this model is the OpenTherm support. Instead of simply turning the boiler fully on or off it communicates with the boiler to request only the exact amount of heat needed. That leads to smoother room temperature, less boiler strain and up to 12 percent lower gas usage according to Hive. If you use your heating daily those savings add up over time.

You can set up to six heating schedules per day, activate a boost for up to six hours or let the system automatically protect pipes through frost protection. Holiday Mode keeps heating off while you are away and switches it back on for your return. The geolocation feature can also send alerts if you leave the house with the heating still running.

The thermostat has physical buttons for anyone who prefers a manual control and the mobile app is available for full remote access. It also works with voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant.

Professional installation is recommended unless you are experienced with boiler wiring. Once installed it is simple to operate and has very positive reviews for reliability ease of use and build quality.
